If the tea stain is still visible mix a bit of white vinegar with a bit of water and apply it directly onto stain using a sponge or dishcloth. If you have a tea or coffee spill while on the go blot away the moisture with a plain white paper towel or cloth. The first thing you need to do as you would with any type of liquid that spills onto the carpet is blot up as much of the tea stain as possible by using a clean white cloth. Rinse the affected area with cold water.

This will just move the liquid around and increase the surface area of the stain.
